Brian Ward
ESR Level 3 Elite Coach
Brian took up playing squash at the age of 21 and has played weekly ever since. He began coaching in 1995 and has been a Hampshire Junior Coach since.
Throughout his squash & racketball coaching career, Brian’s focus has always been on participation. He is responsible for setting up the Hampshire Junior Grand Prix events, which continue to be played today.
Over the past 20 years, Brian has set up 3 different junior squash clubs and is now set on reaching his goal of introducing 1000 people to the sport. Brian coaches part-time at Winchester, running junior and mini squash sessions. He is also available for individual coaching throughout the week.

With an extensive background in sports coaching & development and an advanced understanding into sports science, Alex can assess and progress clients physically, physiologically and nutritionally. Alex provides personal training that is unique to you, this can range from weight loss & body sculpting to specific sport training. Alex is also a competing Fitness Model, who is always aiming to better his physique, performance and knowledge. Alex is very aware that personal training is, and should be a fun and rewarding experience and therefore he likes to ensure that a relaxed, enjoyable & professional atmosphere is provided in each session. Alex believes that health and fitness is often mistaken for an experience that people feel is hard and too challenging to grasp, and so is a big supporter of the “walking before running” approach.
Elliott Dodds
BSc Sports Coaching graduate Elliott specialises in improving movement qualities and injury prevention. Having worked with national level athletes, Elliott can also help to improve physical condition for performance too.
Elliott has worked with Hampshire Cricket as well as both male & female squash, tennis, football and netball players. Offering tailored 1-1 sessions, training programmes, nutritional advice and support, Elliott can help to prevent and rehabilitate most common injuries.

Jamie Hogan

Jamie is a BSc Fitness and Personal Training (Hons) graduate who takes pride in improving people’s health and lifestyle. With a firm belief in structuring training around life rather than life around training and taking one step at a time he loves improving individual’s health, lifestyle and education in both. With experience in working in rehab programmes Jamie enjoys helping those who feel they can’t see exercise and a healthier lifestyle as an enjoyable process change their mind. Jamie believes that a healthier lifestyle shouldn’t be a hindrance on the things you want to do in life but a tool to support you. This extends past the gym and into the kitchen and your weekly life, what’s important for your lifestyle should be just as important in your fitness plan.
Tom Smith
Tom is a Strength and Conditioning coach with experience working with a wide array of athletes from multiples sports ranging from elite to amateur level. Alongside working privately as a Strength and Conditioning Coach here at Winchester Racquets and Fitness, Tom is also currently employed as a strength and conditioning coach at Southampton Football Club. Through his company, SHP Fitness, Tom provides strength and conditioning support to elite and amateur athletes both youth and senior from sports including: Tennis, Football, Rugby, Cricket, Squash, Track and Field, Netball, Badminton, Boxing, Golf, Cycling and Marathon preparation. Tom is available for private sessions on a limited basis at Winchester Racquets and Fitness and is contactable at tom@shpfitness.co.uk for enquiries.
